چکیده

Web GIS (Geographic Information Systems) service systems provide the various GIS services of analyzing and displaying the spatial data with friendly user-interface. But, early systems don’t support open environment and interoperability. It is difficult to access diverse data sources, which provide each spatial data format. And, these systems have the difficult of upgrading the function and reducing the cost of developing web GIS application. In this paper, we design and implement the open web GIS service system based on the web GIS architecture of OGC(OpenGIS Consortium). This system provides the inter-operability, open environment, and spatial data transfer format based on XML. In addition, it satisfies the various userrequirement and the re-usability of the developed software because it supports web GIS services as components. Each service component is composed of many objects accomplish the atomic service processing and cooperate with each other. Web GIS service components are designed with UML (Unified Modeling Language) of an objectoriented modeling language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software system. In addition, they also were developed in object-oriented computing environment, ATL/COM and Visual C++, and it provide the interoperability, language-independent, easy developing environment as well as re-usability.

Integration of GRASS Functionality in Web based SDI Service Chains

Bringing the full set of GIS (Geographical Information System) functionality into a SOA (Service-oriented Architecture) based environment is one of the substantial changes in the GIS domain. Standardized data access and coordinate transformation and visualization functionality are already available and commonly used in Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI). Nevertheless, one problem still remains:...

Message Exchanges for Web Service-based Mapping Services

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) [1] defines a number of standards, both for data models and for online services, that has been widely adopted in the Geographical Information System (GIS) community. This has lead to a number of software development efforts, online data archives, and application communities. The emergence of Web Service technique overcomes the shortcoming of traditional Dist...

Sharing geospatial provenance in a service-oriented environment

One of the earliest investigations of provenance was inspired by applications in GIS in the early 1990’s. Provenance records the processing history of a data product. It provides an information context to help users determine the reliability of data products. Conventional provenance applications in GIS focus on provenance capture, representation, and usage in a stand-alone environment such as a...

Information Services for Grid/Web Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Based Geospatial Applications

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) presents data-intensive environment for acquiring, processing and sharing geo-data among interested parties. In order to serve geographical information to users in such environment, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles have gained great importance. In SOA-based systems, Information Services support the discovery and handling of these geospatial s...

QoS-Based web service composition based on genetic algorithm

Quality of service (QoS) is an important issue in the design and management of web service composition. QoS in web services consists of various non-functional factors, such as execution cost, execution time, availability, successful execution rate, and security. In recent years, the number of available web services has proliferated, and then offered the same services increasingly. The same web ...
